Helpful and Interesting Read

This is a good career guide about app development. I'm not a lawyer, but the guide is compelling because the author lays out how he was able to make such a drastic pivot even though he spent all that money in student loans and studying to become a lawyer.
I've been playing around with Javascript for front end dev, but I'm going to check out ruby on rails next based on what the author mentions in the book. The book does a good job with an overview of what types of developers are most in demand. The interviews are pretty inspiring too - it shows that anyone who have never coded before can just get good enough for employment with enough grit and hard work.

Saved Me From a Massive Amount of Student Loans!

This book is awesome! Coding is something I never considered, but I've decided to defer my decision to go to law school while I keep exploring my options, particularly in tech start ups. The book covers the reason why someone should pursue software instead of law, and lays out what's needed in a year to make a transition. Recommended!
The book also references other resources to learn about actual coding and what it entails, so it's a good place to learn about the career paths of software if you don't know where to start.

Easy to understand and inspiring

The book is well written and helps clear the mystique of the world of software development. The book breaks down the world of software development in a way that is easily digestible and leaves the reader with a concrete action plan to self-teach your way into an entry-level software developer within the period of one year. Although the book is titled "Quit Law and Code," it could have been named "Quit Your Job and Code" as the bulk of the direction given in the book is applicable to non-lawyers as well.
