Her beauty and gentility shined through and it set the stage for an intense relationship.

Romance, not taboo babysitter

When the writer has a character say something out loud and then the main character tells you the same thing in their head to make sure you get it, it's not fun reading. It's best when a character describes details to another character painting a vivid picture. It's subtle and easy flowing. The book cover photo and the book title do not coincide with the story -they don't belong. This story isn't taboo naughty like both lead you to believe. It's a romance of a college babysitter in love with her friends father. Why pick a naughty cover photo for that? Listing babysitter in the title leads you to believe the taboo aspect. Which it is not. The "babysitter" is an adult, bonds closely with the family so much so that it's not a big deal for the two to end up together. I was board reading so much of the story that my brain kept skipping parts.

Emotional and Passionate

The synopsis alone caught my attention because of the unique story. I went on reading and became engaged to Amber’s character. The way the story was written was very magnificent. It is both emotional and passionate. I love the way the author manipulates words that can touch my heart and became sympathetic to Amber’s situation. All in all, this story is superb! I will definitely read the next volume.

Wonderful book

I love this book! Our local library doesn't have much, if anything, about backyard habitats for kids. I loved the pictures and the kids and I had fun using it to see if we could see those birds in our yard. It has been a wonderful supplement to our science curriculum this year!

Franklin Hall's book 'Atomic Power With God Through Fasting and Prayer' was the spark that ignited the hearts of thousands to go on extended fasts, to seek God for revival and the restoration of spiritual gifts to the church.Many went on 40-day fasts.

In 1947-1952 the great healing revival broke out through the ministries of William Branham, Oral Roberts, T. L. Osborne and a host of others who began to experience gifts of the Holy Spirit.

They began to see extraordinary miracles in their ministries and thousands were converted and healed.

Most of these itinerant evangelists followed Hall's practice of fasting. In 1948 the "Latter Rain" outpouring visited North Battleford, Canada, and swept into the United States.

The leaders all agreed that it was after reading 'Atomic Power' that they entered a season of the "grace of fasting" which, after three months, resulted in a powerful outpouring of the Spirit restoring spiritual gifts and ministries to the church.

It also led them into employing the 'laying on of hands' for healing and for imparting the gift of the Holy Spirit. The truth of fasting with prayer was a major catalyst in this revival.

fasting is the way to release the power of Jesus.

We live in a day when it is absolutely necessary for every believer to function in supernatural power. Everyone of us! Fasting is the only way to come into that. This book is anointed. I started reading it and started a 10 day fast which I am on day 8 now. I feel clearer, more sensitive to the Lord and my faith uncapped! One knows they should fast but I just couldn't muster the willpower or gumption. But this book imparted to me an empowering grace to do this extended fast. I've had phenomenal grace. Get this book if you want to go deeper.

Atomic Power With God Through Fasting and Prayer is a great read for every Christian who seems to keep "going around the mountain." If you want breakthrough, want to draw closer to God, fasting is the key. This book has scripture, advice, and testimonies of what fasting can do for you, spiritually and naturally.

Easy to read

Easy to read. At first it seems like it might bore you, but I haven't been able to put it down. Very informative and helpful read, especially if your entering an extended fast and having trouble sticking to it. If that's the case get the prayer that moves mountains book to go along with it and you will see victory. I love this book. It's down to earth, old but exceptional, VERY informative, and is, at least in my fasting journey, a must have, must read book. Great purchase!

An important book

Finally, a solid and accessible (if a little dry - more, and varied, examples would help motivate the various improvements) monograph that can be used in a Ph.D. course on Bayesian time series modeling; I wish I had it, in addition to Hamilton's tome, when I was in grad school. I look forward to "Time series" gaining an audience among current and future researchers, and helping integrate Bayesian methods into statistics and econometrics curricula.

The book can be compared to "Bayesian forecasting and dynamic models" by West and Harrison - the "Old Testament" on DLMs, more thorough/technical/specialized, less up-to-date - and "Dynamic linear models with R" by Petris, Petrone and Campagnoli, which takes a "softer", introductory approach, but gets to some of the more challenging topics, explored in "Time series", in its final chapters.

I suggest using "Search inside" to read Preface on page xviii, then going back to the table of contents.

Nice applied text on time series analysis

Mostly Bayesian in nature, this book is an excellent introduction to time series analysis, with important results shown and a plethora of examples of application.

One of the author's former student taught Introductory Time Series ...

One of the author's former students taught Introductory Time Series course in our university using this book. A student in that class came to me for help because she can not understand it. As a PhD in Statistics, I find that this one is way too hard for entry level. First off, if you do not know Bayesian/MCMC and all the "fashion" staff, you have no chance to understand it. Secondly, this book is moving too fast in "traditional" topics so the student will not have a solid background of "common sense". Unless you already know what the author is going to talk, you are unlikely to understand what he talks. You may take it as a reference book when you are doing some serious research, but do not expect it as introductory textbook.

About the Author

Agustin Ochoa received his B.S. from the University of Arizona in 1971, his M.S. from Stanford University (’72), and returned to the University of Arizona for his Ph.D. (‘77) in electrical engineering with minors in physics and mathematics. He began his working career at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque New Mexico working on CMOS technology development, radiation hardening, and device issues. In 1986 he joined Hughes Aircraft in Carlsbad California where he became manager of their BiCMOS development group. His interests throughout his career have been in device physics, in transform mathematics, and in analog circuits. In 1990 he left Hughes Aircraft to join a small analog design startup, Technology Applications Group, leaving his senior device position to become a junior analog designer―the perfect combination of math, device behavior, and analog circuitry, thinking that in a few years he would learn all he needed to be a full analog designer. Then he had to face feedback. After a review of analog texts and many discussions with other designers he developed an approach to circuit analysis (DPI/SFG) combining the Driving Point Impedance technique of Ruben Kelly (Univ. of New Mexico) with Signal Flow Graphs (Sam Mason).

Dr. Ochoa continued developing and applying the DPI/SFG methodology for circuit analysis with particular application to feedback systems in his work at ABB Hafo, Brooktree/Rockwell/Conexant, Fairchild Se

miconductor, Xtreme Spectrum, Zarlink, Ramtron/Cypress Semiconductor, and now as an independent consultant as Xtreme Analog Circuit Technology (XACT), working on classic and very low power analog amplifiers, reference cells, regulators, plls, crystal oscillators, active filters, RFID development, and elements of RF.

Dr. Ochoa has taught at the University of New Mexico and at the University of California at San Diego as an adjunct professor, published and lectured on feedback analysis and analog design since 1994. He has been awarded 6 patents with another 6 pending. And 24 years later, he is still learning analog design.

Misunderstood

I was under the impression this would give me the route from Detroit area to Florida because I believe he was from the Detroit area. This book will surely not give you the fastest route coming from Michigan. I'm disappointed.
