Beautiful, filled with inspiration and detailed instruction.

Chris Cozen has done it again. I loved her book Acrylic Solutions Acrylic Solutions: Exploring Mixed Media Layer by Layer and I love this book, Acrylic Color Explorations every bit as much. I purchased the book sight unseen because I have learned so much from Chris Cozen from her helpful YouTube videos, her blog and her online presence. This book was so much more than I was expecting. I figured it would be helpful for choosing colors or how colors work well together. It is all of that, but it's also FILLED with examples, exercises and step by step demonstrations, not only in color theory but in art instruction as well.

There are several artist profiles and for once they are not the same group of artists that seem to be in every other art book - almost all of them were new to me.

In addition to being packed with information, this book is gorgeous to look at. The color jumps off the glossy pages, the font is easy to read and it's a hardbound book with spiral binding so it can lay flat and stay open while you follow the examples shown in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in making art - beginner to even more advanced as there are so many great color theory ideas.

Every time I turn a page, I want to jump up and try the art or color examples shown on that page. I've included a photo to show the beginning of how I was inspired within minutes of opening the book. :)

If your looking to understand color this is it!

this is my second book by Chris Cozen and as with the other book this one is packed with information I can understand. I'm a newbie when it comes to art and so many times the color in my mind and that that shows up on my board is not the same, in fact I make a lot of mud! Why? I saw other artist that use all these colors and they seem to meld well, why not mine. So when I saw that she came out with this Color book I had to get it and I'm not sorry. I like the step by step and it really shows how colors work together. Its been helpful for me and I will be keeping this book as a reference for a long time.

I have had this magnificent book in my studio for several weeks now and every time I sit down to share it with you, I open it up and find more treasures. Chris Cozen has personally taught me so much about color - about exploring, about not being afraid to make mistakes, about how colors play with each other. "Acrylic Color Explorations" is infused with information, techniques and demonstrations all encouraging us to experiment with the variations and nuances of color. I know I will be going back to this book time and time again -- for me, it is a studio must have.

About the Author
Subal C. Kumbhakar is a distinguished research professor at the State University of New York, Binghamton. He specializes in productivity and efficiency analysis, with particular emphasis on the theory and application of stochastic frontier (SF) models. He has developed numerous SF models for both cross-sectional and panel models in a single-equation set-up, as well as in a set-up with simultaneous equations. He is co-editor of Empirical Economics and guest editor of special issues of the Journal of Econometrics, Empirical Economics, the Journal of Productivity Analysis, and the Indian Economic Review. He is associate editor and editorial board member of Technological Forecasting and Social Change: An International Journal, the Journal of Productivity Analysis, the International Journal of Business and Economics, and Macroeconomics and Finance in Emerging Market Economies. He is also the co-author of Stochastic Frontier Analysis (Cambridge, 2000).

Hung-Jen Wang is Professor of Economics at the National Taiwan University. His research interests include stochastic frontier analysis and empirical macroeconomics. He has published research papers in the Journal of Econometrics, the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Econometric Review, Economic Inquiry, the Journal of Productivity Analysis, and Economics Letters. He was a co-editor of Pacific Economic Review and is currently associate editor of Empirical Economics and the Journal of Productivity Analysis.

Alan P. Horncastle has been a professional economist for more than twenty years and leads Oxera's work on performance assessment. He has provided efficiency advice for companies and regulatory authorities in the energy, transport, water, financial services, and communications sectors across Europe for business planning, transactions, regulatory reviews, Competition Commission cases, and court hearings. He has published papers in the Journal of the Operational Research Society, the Journal of Regulatory Economics, the Competition Law Journal, and Utilities Policy and has contributed chapters to Liberalization of the Postal and Delivery Sector and Emerging Issues in Competition, Collusion and Regulation of Network Industries.

A Surprisingly Good Read for a First Time Author

This was a surprisingly good read. This was a great story without any political bias, except for the military politics that accompany active duty. The story focuses around a central character - Sergeant Matt Duffy - who follows his own path in life, without the need for a lot of external support and encouragement. He's also a reluctant hero, a royal pain-in-the-neck to his peers and superiors, as well as someone you'd want by your side in a wartime situation. As the story progresses, you develop a love-hate relationship for the guy - much like his active duty cohorts. The story covers a 24-hour period that is filled with non-stop action in a place where you'd least expect it. I could definitely see this as a movie someday. Maybe the author will write a screenplay.

What I loved about Tower 13 was it was easy to connect to the characters in the book. Spot on about the news media, most military marriages, and the "this never happened."

About the Author
Dr. Dale Arthur Fife is a gifted pastor, author, teacher, and

musician with an insatiable passion for intimacy with God.

His zeal for the Lord has led him on an incredible journey

from his first pastorate of a small rural church in a coal-mining

town outside of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to the cofounding

of a large multiracial inner-city church in Pittsburgh. After five

decades of experience in ministry, he and his wife, Eunice, now

provide apostolic leadership at SonPointe Church, a growing

congregation in Bradenton, Florida, and are the founders and

overseers of Mountain Top Ministries, a network of pastors,
